With the upcoming release of their ninth album, Spoon takes possession of the French Paper Gallery with an exhibition of the artworks created by the American artist Christine Messersmith for the album with a very special night on March 1st.

Les fonds récoltés sur les sérigraphies seront reversés à l’association The International Rescue Committee.

Spoon est l’un des meilleurs groupes américains en activité. Ni plus ni moins ! En vingt ans de carrière et huit albums, le quatuor emmené par Daniel Britt et Jim Eno est passé de la fascination discrète des cercles indépendants à la liste des groupes les plus respectés aux Etats-Unis avec des tournées à guichet fermé. Propulsé au sommet des charts avec leur chef d’œuvre Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga en 2007, leur premier album à entrer au Top 10 dans les charts américains, le groupe a depuis constitué une discographie irréprochable et conquis un public très large. Leur dernier opus paru en 2014 They Want My Soul les couronnait encore un peu plus avec des concerts dans des salles toujours plus grandes, squattant les ondes radio et les plus grandes Télés US.
Avec Hot Thoughts, Spoon fait une nouvelle fois des merveilles grâce au songwriting diablement efficace et terriblement entraînant de Britt : guitares accrocheuses, rythmiques voix éraillée et une richesse instrumentale sans pareille. Les Texans mélangent beaucoup de choses : du rock, de la pop lo-fi notamment, mais aussi un peu de soul pour des ambiances en clair/obscur dont ils ont le secret. Avec le légendaire producteur Dave Fridmann (The Flaming Lips, Mercury Rev, MGMT, Tame Impala…) aux commandes, les Texans délivrent sans nul doute un nouveau chef d’œuvre.
Le retour du groupe chez Matador, qui avait sorti leur tout premier album Telephono, et leur volonté affichée de prêcher la bonne parole dans le monde entier marquent une nouvelle étape. Méconnu de ce côté-ci de l’Atlantique, Hot Thoughts s’annonce comme le déclic qui convertira enfin le Vieux Continent.

After months of speculation, Spoon have announced the release of their monumental new album ‘ Hot Thoughts’, March 17th on Matador Records. Produced by Spoon and Dave Fridmann, Austin’s most esteemed rock ambassadors have created the bravest, most sonically inventive work of their illustrious career.
Reuniting the band with the label that released their 1996 debut, ‘Telephono’, and following on Spoon’s streak of three consecutive US Top 10 albums—‘Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga’ (2007), ‘Transference’ (2010) and ‘They Want My Soul’ (2014)—‘Hot Thoughts’ is nothing short of epic. Listening to ‘Hot Thoughts’, it’s instantly apparent why Spoon are considered one of the most critically acclaimed acts of the first decade of the new millennium.
Within the space of 10 captivating songs – all written by Britt Daniel- ‘Hot Thoughts’ creates a musical universe all its own, with individual worlds ranging from the kaleidoscopic opening/title track through the gargantuan stomp of “Do I Have To Talk You Into It” and ubiquitous wiry hooks of “Can I Sit Next To You » to the bittersweet “I Ain’t The One” and beyond.
