VOID est un projet entam\u00e9 \u00e0 la toute fin de l\u2019ann\u00e9e 2019. Une s\u00e9rie d\u2019illustrations au but ambitieux : repr\u00e9senter le vide. Rendre visibles, palpables, sensibles, ses diff\u00e9rentes facettes, de l\u2019absence douloureuse d\u2019un \u00eatre aim\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019attente et la frustration engendr\u00e9e, de la l\u00e9g\u00e8ret\u00e9 des sentiments \u00e0 la pesanteur du vide.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

Fascin\u00e9 par les all\u00e9gories, le symbolisme et l\u2019imaginaire de l\u2019enfance, Iris D\u2019arbre, n\u00e9 d\u2019une m\u00e8re belge et d\u2019un p\u00e8re burkinab\u00e9, puise dans son propre v\u00e9cu, ses peines et ses d\u00e9racinements, aux confluences de l\u2019Afrique et de l\u2019Europe, l\u2019\u00e9toffe m\u00eame de son \u0153uvre. Sa vie, entach\u00e9e de plusieurs trag\u00e9dies intimes, est devenue le mat\u00e9riau d\u2019images au caract\u00e8re ouvertement surr\u00e9aliste. Et de toile en dessin, il juxtapose avec l\u00e9g\u00e8ret\u00e9 ou noirceur les fragments de contes amoraux, o\u00f9 le trait a pris le pas sur la voix dans un processus cr\u00e9atif qui s\u2019apparente in fine \u00e0 la psychanalyse.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

La s\u00e9rie ici expos\u00e9e s\u2019inscrivait initialement dans le cadre d\u2019un storyboard, une histoire compl\u00e8te. L\u2019artiste a finalement choisi de n\u2019en conserver que des instantan\u00e9s. Quelques images flottant chacune dans son propre espace tout en correspondant avec les autres.<\/p>

La crise sanitaire de 2020-2021 a offert un \u00e9cho vibrant \u00e0 cette s\u00e9rie constitu\u00e9e pour l\u2019essentiel durant les mois de confinement, quand l\u2019humanit\u00e9 tout enti\u00e8re subissait le joug de l\u2019\u00e9pid\u00e9mie et devenait litt\u00e9ralement prisonni\u00e8re du virus. Elle donne tout son sens aux images, con\u00e7ues entre des murs qui semblaient chaque jour r\u00e9tr\u00e9cir. Chacune des images se veut le miroir d\u2019instants, parfois tragiques, de l\u2019ann\u00e9e 2020.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Iris D\u2019arbre est un artiste Burkinab\u00e9 Belge vivant sur Paris.<\/p>

Dipl\u00f4m\u00e9 de l\u2019\u00c9cole Sup\u00e9rieure d\u2019Art de Saint-Luc, \u00e0 Bruxelles, et passionn\u00e9 par tout ce qui touche au roman graphique, il se lance tr\u00e8s t\u00f4t dans la production de s\u00e9ries d’illustrations narratives avec l\u2019id\u00e9e bien ancr\u00e9e de lier l\u2019intime au symbolique. Chacune de ses illustrations est un prodige de patience et d\u2019application, point apr\u00e8s point, en suivant un proc\u00e9d\u00e9 qui emprunte au pointillisme autant qu\u2019au pixel art.<\/p>
